Alicia Albares was born in Madrid, in July 1984.

 

Since she was a little girl, she loved reading and she started writing her own stories very early. Her tales brought her a lot of awards.

 

In that moment, she discovered her passion for storytelling and her will to turn them into images. So cinema became her goal and fate.

 

She studied Communication in Complutense University in Madrid, while she started to write her own proyects.

 

Focused occupationally and vocationally in cinema scope, she has worked in a lot of films as third assistant director and production assistant. Because of that, although she's very young, she has already hoarded a great experience and a deep knowledge in cinema matters.

 

In 2013, she directed, wrote and produced her first short film, To the other side an astonishing story full of magic an mystery, which has won 20 awards and collects more than 140 selections in festivals in Spain and around the globe.

 

Nowadays, she is preparing her next shortfilm, Where leaves fall, starring MarÍa Miguel, Carlos Álvarez-Nóvoa and Jesús Castejón. In addition, she is working in a movie screenplay, the one based in To the other side, the shortfilm.

 

Alicia Albares is a dream seeker, a pure creative person, a young woman who knows that her stories have much to offer. She hopes to get that her stories will be known and shared with the world.

Alicia Albares nació en Madrid en Julio de 1984.

 

Desde muy temprano fue una ávida lectora y pronto comenzó a escribir. Sus incursiones en el mundo literario le reportaron numerosos premios.

 

Fue así cómo descubrió su pasión por contar historias y que estas se plasmaran en imágenes.  El cine se convirtió en su meta y también en su destino.

 

Estudió Comunicación Audiovisual en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, al tiempo que comenzaba a escribir sus propios proyectos.

 

Volcada profesional y vocacionalmente en el mundo del cine, ha trabajado en numerosas películas, por lo que, a pesar de su juventud, posee ya una amplia experiencia y un profundo conocimiento del medio cinematográfico.

 

En el 2013,  dirigió, escribió y produjo su primer cortometraje Al Otro Lado, una historia sorprendente llena de magia y misterio, que lleva atesorados más de 20 premios y 140 selecciones en festivales en España y en el mundo entero.

 

En la actualidad, está preparando su segundo cortometraje, Donde Caen las Hojas, protagonizado por María Miguel, Carlos Álvarez-Nóvoa y Jesús Castejón. Además, está trabajando en un guión de largometraje, basado el el corto de Al otro lado.

 

Si hay algo que defina a Alicia Albares es el hecho de ser una buscadora de quimeras, una auténtica creadora, una mujer joven que sabe que sus historias tienen mucho que ofrecer. Y espera conseguir que sean conocidas y compartidas por los demás.
